2026 Race Announcement

Home » 2026 Race Announcement

The race date for the 2026 National Capital 20 Miler and Janet Braunstein 5 Miler is set. Both events will run on October 3, 2026. Unlike in previous years, this year’s events will take place on a Saturday, not Sunday. Regardless, these races are still perfectly timed for fall running season, particularly for runners who are planning to compete in a late-year marathon.

Race registration will open in mid-May. As always, bookmark this website, and follow our Twitter feed. We will be posting ongoing race updates in the coming months.

Call for Volunteers

It always bears repeating that no DC Road Runners event is possible without the help of volunteer work, and the National Capital 20 Miler is no exception.

If you are a club member, please consider volunteering at an upcoming race. The 20 Miler race directors will issue a call for volunteers closer to the 2026 event date. Thank you in advance.
