We Did It!

The fall of 2025 has been difficult on all fronts. In our case, the National Capital 20 Miler was cancelled due to the shutdown of the federal government. However, we are fortunate that this particular race has garnered the support of many in the DC running community, and even as the shutdown stretched on, lots of people were working behind the scenes to attempt to set up an alternative race date. Ultimately, everything clicked into place, and we were able to hold a 10-mile race, as well a full version of the Janet Braunstein 5 Miler.

As always, we are grateful for the ongoing support of PR Running. Packet pickup was once again a huge success, and we appreciate our ongoing partnership with you.

Likewise, we are grateful for all of the assistance that our race volunteers offered over the past few months. DC Road Runners is an all-volunteer organization, and none of our events would be possible without the generosity of our volunteers. Thank you, everyone. We did it!

And with that, here is a parting image from the start line of yesterday’s race. What a beautiful day for a run.

The volunteers start early, but it is always a joy when the weather is this pretty.
